Otherwise why not? If the main criterion is high iso photography, which seems to get the internet photographers all-abuzz, then there are dozens of suitable cameras available. I have some. I hardly ever use them since: a) they are not as nice to use. b) they are big and heavy c) The results I get are inferior. YMMV FD ----- Original Message ---- From: Mark Rabiner <mark at rabinergroup.com> To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Wednesday, 15 June, 2011 10:51:13 Subject: Re: [Leica] Another R option (now M9) A much smaller niche now than in the 90's in the days of the M6 Geoff. Leica is now paying Magnum photographers to be seen with M's in their hands and calling it a "Partnership". A PR quagmire as its fooling nobody when what need to happen is the sensor upgraded. When that happens the photographers will be paying for the cameras not the other way around. EVERY Magnum photogeek in the 90's used M's. Read BEST photographers in the world. And people would say then "nobody" was using them. People knew differently. "Nobody" then meant not the masses of photogs but the very best photogs were certainly using M6's. Not a bad niche to be in. NONE of the Magman photograms are now using M9's. So now "nobody" means "nobody" for sure. Its not a niche at all its pretty much nobody. The full frame sensor did not do it as to tear them away from their DSLR's they're NOT going to go down 4 f stops in iso speed to do that. But again I'll say when that sensor is upgraded they will follow. If you build it they will come.
