Typically in my city (half way down east coast) we would only receive the rain effects though. http://www.australiangeographic.com.au/journal/timeline-australias-worst-cyclones.htm Our cyclones do rotate clockwise vs. the Northern hemisphere anti-clockwise. I think to do with coriolos effect (often blamed for toilet swirling too!) More friendly clouds soon (no swirling ones) Cheers Geoff *Life's not black and white, except at both ends* http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman On 6 June 2011 08:09, Ken Carney <kcarney1 at cox.net> wrote: > On 5/31/2011 9:46 AM, Geoff Hopkinson wrote: > >> A usual domestic ordinary day but some interesting cloud was building as I >> got home. >> I raced out the door and 5 minutes down the road for the last half hour of >> light. >> A couple of months back this river was 2 metres over my street and filled >> my >> neighbours' homes.
