Subject: [Leica] IMG: annoying banding - is my M8 becoming a paper weight?

Don't know about Range Rovers, but the old Land Rovers just worked no matter 
what you did to them.  Iso above 640 may be noisy, but never had any 
exposure or blank exposure at any iso.

Range Rovers suffer the same problem right?

Yes, I have never liked the results above 640iso on the M8.

The M9 is much improved in low light, I had great results at 1600iso.
