[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]George, If the camera shoots perfectly acceptable photographs at ISO 6400, you can hand hold at 1/500 or 1/1000 on Auto ISO (you can set a minimum shutter speed on Auto ISO) and just play around with aperture as required - you actually do not even require to use VR/IS. Much easier to pan hand held as the 70-200 and a TC does not weigh all that much. I generally do not like using a tripod or monopod, and really do not photograph subjects very often that require their use. Normally, on safari, I use beanbags which are much more useful from a vehicle. My son was using the 200-400 and the monopod, which is essential for that lens!
