A quick conversion with no tweaking with the levels and or curves. The last one was two days ago the color was finished nicely but the black and white was a full stop dark. There really was no comparison to be made. The figure you were supposed to be looking at was invisible in the darks. In this one the black and white one as was just hinted at below is washed out. It simply appears unfinished. Like a jpeg right out of the camera. -------------------- Mark William Rabiner Photography http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ mark at rabinergroup.com Cars: http://tinyurl.com/2f7ptxb > From: Geoff Hopkinson <hopsternew at gmail.com> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Date: Sun, 2 Jan 2011 07:38:21 +1000 > To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Subject: Re: [Leica] Color or Black and White? > > Leo I much prefer the colour version, even though I too enjoy using the > flattering effects you can get from BW in soft light for pretty faces,. > For me the subtle colour portrays your Texas munchkin more naturally and > attractively. > There's not enough tonal variation for the BW to give good modelling (for > my > taste) and of course that flawless skin needs no help (smoothing by the > soft > grey tone) > More importantly she is a delightful child of course, keep on shooting. > Cheers > Geoff > http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman > > > On 2 January 2011 05:46, leo wesson <leowesson at gmail.com> wrote: > >> http://www.leowesson.com/daily/1-1-11.html >> >> Leo Wesson >> Photographer/Videographer >> 817.733.9157 >> www.leowesson.com >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >> > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
