Two stops to f 2.8 So the full body and richness has been polluted and does not come through of this rather effete for Nikon lens. But I actually got a bit more in focus. Especially what I wanted to get in focus. That purple flower. Which if I had shot it at 1.4 would not be in focus in this particular shot. Did not put all my eggs into one focal plane. It's a big heavy lens. Gives you a bright easy to see image in the ground glass. And does do every well at f 1.4. But I've been shooting stopped down in the dead of night. As my ISO's are in cruising speed in the 64,000 range. Giving me better than I got before results at iso 16,000. But that's only two stops... Seems like more if you're not used to those numbers as I was not two months ago. 16,000 32,000 64,000 I love knowing that even if I didn't nail my focus in the groundglass I still may have nailed it in the "print" as I stopped down a couple. Which is how I shot most my pix from 1965 to 1995. Stopped down a couple. And is how I was taught and how most the people I know shot. -------------------- Mark William Rabiner Photography http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ mark at rabinergroup.com Cars: http://tinyurl.com/2f7ptxb > From: Philippe Amard <philippe.amard at sfr.fr> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2010 07:31:48 +0100 > To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Subject: Re: [Leica] Friday Flour StrausPark?107/Broadway > > > Le 10 d?c. 10 ? 07:29, Mark Rabiner a ?crit : > >> >> >> >> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/101115_155228.jpg.html >> > > What lens is this? > > TIA > ph > > >> Read um and weep. >> >> The Rabs >> >> >> -------------------- >> Mark William Rabiner >> Photography >> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ >> mark at rabinergroup.com >> Cars: http://tinyurl.com/2f7ptxb >> >> >> >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >> > > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
