An old cast aluminum 6x9 Kodak brownie camera from my father in law with flashbulbs I used to use with it. I'd print them full frame black border and ask people to wonder how I get such smooth grainless quality from my Nikon F2. But in the end I'd tell them my little secret. For some reason I was ok with 6x7 10 on a roll better. Better than 8 to a roll 6x9. Seemed kind of skinny. Which makes no sense. When I shoot Brownie film (medium format) I want it more chunky. Hold the almonds. -------------------- Mark William Rabiner Photography http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/ mark at rabinergroup.com Cars: http://tinyurl.com/2f7ptxb > From: Slobodan Dimitrov <s.dimitrov at charter.net> > Reply-To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2010 19:27:55 -0800 > To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> > Subject: Re: [Leica] Fuji FinePix x100 video > > Yeah, I'm with you on the 6x9 issue. > Emulsion quantity has a quality all of its own. > Holds true with sensor sizes too. > S.d. > > > On Dec 9, 2010, at 7:22 PM, Alan Magayne-Roshak wrote: > >> On Thu, 09 Dec 2010 Mark Rabiner <mark at rabinergroup.com> wrote: >> >>> The idea and fact that you can slide out of your pants pocket a camera >>> which >>> you unfold and can then expose a 6x7 expanse of film with. >> >>> Very few things could get me to shoot film but this would be one of them. >>> 60 * 70 = 4200 >> ============================================================== >> My Bessa II is even flatter folded, and takes 6x9 negatives. >> 60 x 90 = 5400 sq mm >> And a nicer picture proportion. ;~) >> >> Alan >> >> Alan Magayne-Roshak, Senior Photographer >> UPAA POY 1978 >> University Information Technology Services >> University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee >> amr3 at uwm.edu >> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Alan+Magayne-Roshak/ >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
