Thyroid cancer for children exposed (0-14) peaked about 1996 an incidents of nearly 5 per 100,000 and is currently at background levels of less then 1 per 100,000. Adolescents exposed (15-19) were hit the hardest, their thyroid cancer peaked in 2002 at 10 per 100,000 and is currently nearly background. Adults exposed continue to have increasing incidence of thyroid cancer, currently around 7 per 100,000. There has been no significant evidence of increases in leukemia incidence or other non-cancer diseases other then thyroid. Birth defects i have no information about here.
