Hello Ted,



They look like an Armillaria-species. Here in the Netherlands we have a
similar fungus: the Honeyfungus.

Probable edible, but not very tasteful. No consumption-advice from me on
this side of the Atlantic.

This year for some reason we have large groupings of mushrooms popping up in
several areas of the garden. And this rather large one by an old Oak stump.

A simple question....... ARE THEY EDIBLE? Well cooked first of course.
