The dynamic range in this photo was so great from the deep shadows to the extreme highlight on his hand, that I tried making virtual copies in LR, developing one for the shadows and one for the highlights and combining them. I didn't think about the shadows showing noise as they were overexposed. I should have added some of LR's great noise reduction but I didn't. I'll try again!
