Something in the order of 3-4% on cameras and nothing on lenses, or the other way around, I don't remember. When we Europeans receive a shipment from outside the EU, the expensive part is not the customs duty but the VAT which is around 20% in most countries. But Tina does not face this problem in the US, since there is no federal VAT, and the state sales tax is based on her voluntarily declaring her purchase to her state tax authorities, something which I bet is easy to forget ;-) Cheers, Nathan Nathan Wajsman Alicante, Spain http://www.frozenlight.eu http://www.greatpix.eu http://www.nathanfoto.com PICTURE OF THE WEEK: http://www.fotocycle.dk/paws Blog: http://www.fotocycle.dk/blog YNWA On Oct 12, 2010, at 9:21 PM, Chris Crawford wrote: > There are NO customs duties on photo gear in the US. > > > -- > Chris Crawford > Fine Art Photography > Fort Wayne, Indiana > 260-486-2581 > > http://www.chriscrawfordphoto.com My portfolio > > http://blog.chriscrawfordphoto.com My latest work! > > http://www.facebook.com/pages/Christopher-Crawford/48229272798 > Become a fan on Facebook > > > > On 10/12/10 3:12 PM, "Richard Man" <richard at imagecraft.com> wrote: > >> US Custom is relatively low.
