I can't imagine selling my two DMRs unless I won the lottery and could afford two S2s! There will be no more new batteries from Leica - so buy any used DMR battery you can find. As long as the electronic controller inside is ok, they can be rebuilt. The batteries can be rebuilt either through Leica. Alternatively a German company Accu-klinik.de will rebuild them for 130 euros. Troy Freund (Milwaukee) on the LUF is also working on battery rebuilds and external battery supplies linked to a Quantum unit with Michael Bass Designs. I've started using a RapidStrap with my DMRs, which makes carrying the weight a lot easier. Plain ground glass screens are on my two DMRs as I shoot a lot of concerts where the light isn't great. Do email me if you want any more tips/advice.
