The SF 20 will do auto flash with the digitals. That said, I don't think I've ever used my Sf24 on my M8, I just shoot most everything available light. Don't know about the Pentax adapter, but if you want off-camera flash with either the SF20 or the SF 24, you can use the Nikon cord. The contacts are the same.
