One year we were on I-80 west of Salt Lake City when we were caught in a heavy thunderstorm. When we drove we had a cooler between the front seats where our dog, Wags, a sheperd-mix, would stand looking down the road and where she could be petted by the navigator. The thunderstorm was so heavy that a pond of water formed on the highway. Just as we were passing a huge semi we hit that pond and a vast quantity of opaque water was flung up on the windshield, enough so that the wipers took three swipes to clear it! When we had regained our composure we discovered that Wags was in the 3rd row of seats having somehow teleported there. The kids can't remember her moving - she just appeared there after the water hit the windshield. She didn't join us up in the front again that day.
