This lens has been completely redesigned.  The Contax version was 9
elements in 8 groups and the new is 11 elements in 9 groups.  This
fots with Zeiss' current strategy of relying on their great T* coating
to control flare and secondary reflections and to allow that to let
them use a lot of air-glass surfaces and multiple spherical elements.
Their recent 35/2 is my favourite SLR 35 ever, but this new one might
be better.  I was a huge fan of the old version on the Aria, and this
one on a D700, F100 or FM size SLR is likely to be really nice,
especially in the absence of a Nikkor AF 35/1.4.
