That is the construction of the OM lens-to-camera adapter. I bought my first, a Pentax adapter, from Fotodiox, and used it with a 200/4 lens, which, admittedly, was heavy. I soon felt some movement, which I traced to the joint between the two halves of the adapter. This particular adapter was assembled with "rim" set screws, with very little ability to lock the two pieces together. I marked the two halves so I could reassemble them correctly, applied a few drops of Super Glue to the mating surfaces, and reassembled them. They are still holding solidly together. My Leica-R adapter came from another source, and is joined with small Phillips screws that screw into the flat surfaces of the adapter parts. While the screws are small, and I checked to see that they were tight, this one has never loosened up at all. The original adapter made by Olympus sold for around $200, and may or may not be available. I think most folks are using the adapters made in China, but checking them carefully before depending on them.
