History reveals the same arguments against the old M design; ad nauseam. Leica has managed to rebuild its brand as the top of the heap in terms of optical and mechanical quality, and now a digital contender among those who care about the wedding of optical/mechanical quality and fine sensors; however idiosyncratic the gear may be. It's at least a slightly different ballgame now. They've got the glass, the tooling, and now the "brand" ? only lacking the "will."
