In mid July I stayed at the rustic Tioga Pass Resort (TPR), a former mining resupply stop on the Tioga Road (California Highway 120) dating to 1914, without telephone, cell phone or internet service. Access to the cabins is over a small bridge across a creek. I had driven over this bridge toward the highway at least 5 or 6 times. While driving toward the exit one afternoon I became intrigued by the light on some Jeffrey pine snags across the highway, took the turn onto the bridge too short, and came to a sudden halt. The pictures at http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OBRYK/Oops/ show the consequences of my embarrassing inattention and the subsequent recovery of my vehicle by a very skillful tow truck operator, with help from two employees of the resort. Cs & Cs cheerfully considered. Leica M8, Elmarit 28mm. Oliver PS: you may enjoy reading TPR's history at www.tiogapassresort.com . _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
