Also, if anyone is interested, there is an exhibit of Ansel's polaroid work in SF: ? ? [there was a photo here which I took out...] ? For those who remember fondly how their Polaroid camera captured treasured moments and then thrilled as the photographs came into view, the world is a bit sadder without the Polaroid camera. In addition to the average photographer, many well-known artists, including Ansel Adams, used Polaroid cameras to express their art. If you are in San Francisco or Los Angeles you will have the unique opportunity to see a rare exhibit of highlights from the Polaroid Collection before they are auctioned by Sotheby's. The exhibits will open to the public at the following locations: Limn Gallery 292 Townsend Street at Fourth Street San Francisco Thursday, May 20 ? Saturday, May 22 11:00 am ? 5:00 pm and Sotheby's 9200 Sunset Boulevard, Suite 170 Los Angeles Tuesday, May 25 ? Thursday, May 27 11:00 am ? 5:00 pm Auction of Photographs from the Polaroid Collection will be June 21 and 22 at Sotheby's New York. For inquiries about the exhibit or auction please contact: Sotheby's New York 212.894.1149 sothebys.com/polaroid Bob Adler Palo Alto, CA http://www.rgaphoto.com ________________________________ From: "grduprey at mchsi.com" <grduprey at mchsi.com> To: Leica Users Group <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Thu, May 13, 2010 1:21:56 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] if anybody is in or near San Francisco Brian, Congratulations on the show.?
