rw2 are recognized by LR as early as 2.4 I think (mine does, and I  
think I updated for that reason).
Do try RAW, even though the JPEGS look quite fine most of the time,  
you can sometimes save a picture, or get something to your taste  
better than when starting form JPEGs as already stated by other  
experienced Lugganautes.
