There are other factors that can cause or exacerbate 'fringing' in digital images also. I could detect this effect in only 2 from fifty or so exposures I made with one and that was in fine detail, adverse light and on the at extreme edges wide open (with M8). I went for slower and more compact though. It all depends on what you want to shoot with it naturally.
