They are, for all practical purposes, the same size: 60 x 124 x 32 mm (2.4 x 4.9 x 1.3 in) = X1 (no viewfinder, no lens interchangeability) 80 x 139 x 37 mm (3.1 x 5.5 x 1.5 in) = M8 (viewfinder, range finder, lens interchangeability) The M8/8.2/9 = the smallest precision still camera available. (obviously if one does not already own M lenses - the X1 may be a rational choice) I can also understand the excitement over the Oly and Pany offerings at less than half the money and offering lens interchangeability. Additional personal ergonomic disclaimer: I don't want a camera in my pocket. I want my camera in my hand (or on a strap on my shoulder) Regards, George Lottermoser george at imagist.com http://www.imagist.com http://www.imagist.com/blog http://www.linkedin.com/in/imagist On Apr 9, 2010, at 11:08 PM, Mark Rabiner wrote: >> Leica X1 > > > Me too! > > [Rabs] > Mark William Rabiner > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
