The  sensor of a Canon G11 or earlier has a diagonal of 9.5mm
So a normal lens for the camera is 9.5mm lens!
A crop factor of 4.55!
Your 50 becomes a  227.5mm lens!

43.3 square mm's.!

Makes super 8 look big.

 4/3s is 225
APS-C (1.5 crop circle factor) is 329.

329 / 43.3  = 7.6

Not a serious contender by a long shot.
7.6 times not so.
