As a G1 user I've been quite surprised by how good the viewfinder is. I was a skeptic about Live View versus SLR optical vfs. Indeed the G1 has two features superior to the slr vf and the accessory versions will have these too: the 5X magnification for focusing; and when using a MF lens, the viewfinder goes dark if you're accidentally stopped down very low (the camera cannot tell you your aperture digitally when you're using the MF lenses) so you don't have to learn by taking a picture and seeing it black... of course no one on the LUG is that incompetent but still.....
