It does tones and it does contrast: it tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth... as it were. Though I'm sure a lot depends on processing. Whatever. When one sees a Tri-X photo taken with Leica glass one knows real photography is -- at the very least -- being attempted. Beautiful picture.
