I think it fair to say that the manufacturers of these "systems" optimize the hardware and software to bring out the best the sensor has to offer; in terms of sharpness, dynamic range, color rendition, fine detail etc. Somewhat analogous to film when we optimized our developer, dilution, time, temperature, agitation, and other variables to bring out the best that the film had to offer. We then went on to scan the film and/ or print through enlargement; incorporating yet another set of variables. After those considerations we're left with an image on a screen or paper. We can then assess our subjective preferences between "systems." Whether film types or digital sensor types, I don't consider such personal assessments, "?useless drivel-talk." Most especially not when specifications are known and control of variables is included in the discussion.
