My old Durst film dryer was just a box that blew filtered room temperature
air across the film while it was still in the reel. Because I was using
pretty flat film at the time (H&W Control Pan film and other fine grain
films used in photomicrography), it behaved quite well. Some of these
European films I'm currently using (Foma, Ilford, Agfa) have a terrible curl
to them to begin with (I can barely use Adox because of this), I may try
putting it on the reel backward, emulsion side out) and drying it as such.
The last roll of APX 400 I developed was dried hanging in the bathroom, and
it has a longitudinal curl to it. I'm still trying to get it straight.
