Of course a spare battery is a must, and I have two Leica ones. The one I threw away was going to be the third one. But two is enough for me anyway, I never travel to places where I do not have access to an electric outlet in the night, and I will very rarely use up more than one battery (ca. 3-400 images) in one day.
