Subject: [Leica] Using R lenses on digital bodies...

I tended to use the lenses at around f5.6 most of the time. but the
compensation meant that I could use smaller apertures without blowing the
highlights.

Your friend can easily make up his own mind by shooting a more or less
neutral compositions and shutting down the lens a stop at a time.
