Just outside the crop were 2 fire/rescue workers in wetsuits and EMTs on the ground. To my knowledge, there's never been any serious casualties to date. The man who started it all died just a couple years ago at the age of 101. He paddled around like an otter for a couple minutes every New Year's Day and still puts all these pikers to shame.
