So I dug out my Hama test negative and scanned it with Vuescan and with Epson Scan, at the same resolution, no sharpening applied etc. to make is as comparable as possible: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/belgiangator/misc/test_vuescan.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/belgiangator/misc/test_epsonscan.jpg.html It seems to me that the Vuescan version is slightly sharper, or am I hallucinating? Otherwise, the Vuescan software now works fine with the Epson 700 (on OSX 10.6). It is less convenient than Epson Scan but if the quality is better than I am prepared to put up with it.
