As Joseph indicated, I'm sure that the solution lies in your Passport warranty. Those aren't available here by the way. I always thought that was an extraordinarily generous scheme where it was offered. Corrosion is certainly symptomatic of salty liquid ingress. At least you have got to without the electronics being affected. I was going to make a joke about sauce on fingers from tapas, but I feel your pain.
