The crockpot (slow-cooker) worksgreat,too, overnight with the Irish 
or Scottish oatmeal.  When we stayed at a bed and breakfast in 
Scotland in the winter, they served oatmeal with a jigger of single 
malt Scotch to pour over it.  Really gets you going on a cold morning!!
