The Mac is working with RAW, and the Windows PC is like working with JPEG. I switched 2 years ago right after Leopard came out, and have not regretted it yet. Unfortunately you have missed the one day of the year that Apple has a discount day, BLACK Friday, which is when I bought my MacBook, with $500 off and a free printer. I have now bought Snow Leopard upgrade for $29 and will be loading it later this week, after I do another backup of my files.
