The 20/2.8D and the Voigtlander 20/3.5 are currently in front, and running neck and neck. I like the fact that both lenses are chipped for Nikkor. The only thing I really miss at time when using the R lenses -- or older Nikkors -- on a D700 is matrix metering. As you know, without a chipped lens you're limited to average or spot. Most of the time average is good enough. But in some cases I could really use MM. I find myself using spot and AE lock more than I thought I would. Also, the bigger the field of view the more chance there is of lighting variation. So there's some real benefit in having a chipped superwide. I keep telling myself I just need to get a 14-24 and be done with it :-). A bit faster and a great lens.
