I can edit the photos right away, picking out the keepers that I will spend the time to do post-processing. All the software I have used display the jpgs way faster than the RAWs. Besides, the vast majority of my photos don't even get converted from RAW. Finally, it's very nice to have jpg ready to email to people, without having to convert, especially when I am on the road, with a laptop that does not have the fastest processing power. The extra time to write the jpg to the SD card is insignificant. Conversely, I almost never shoot RAW+large JPG. - Phong On Thu, Nov 12, 2009 at 3:55 PM, Richard Man <richard.lists at gmail.com> wrote: > Well, that's another answer to Dr. Ted's question of "Why would anyone > want to shoot both RAW+JPG!!" > > > The X1 only shoot JPG only or RAW+JPG, but not RAW only! > > > > -- > // richard m: richard @imagecraft.com > // w: http://www.imagecraft.com/pub/Portfolio09/ blog: > http://rfman.wordpress.com > // book: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/745963 > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >
