I convert the color space to Srgb, though I don't see any difference between that and Adobe RGB. It works fine for a small image. I don't think it matters whether the file is a scan or a digital capture. When you say convert to jpg, do you just save the file as a jpg? I have a directory titled "image upload" where I save a copy as a jpg with the above settings.
