As in, "Why did the Chicken cross the road?" So goes the present questions re the new? Leica whatever it maybe???? #1: Leica reading the LUG and making decisions:?????????????????????? There probably is a designated LEICA employee who when pressed to do so, reads what is posted on the LUG? However not willingly when we look at some of the tit for tat conversations about Leica and how and what manner they should run the company. I'm sure he or she does a great deal of "select all -- delete all!" And unless we have a couple of multi-multi millionaires on list who unbeknownst to the rest of the crew are super major share holders... Now that could be a scary topic given economic times and potential for a "Crash & Burn" at any minute. Possible or not? None of the LUG crew are on the "Board of Governors - Trustees" or whatever they're called in the company. That is unless some one is a mole? I know we all have the right to vent our feelings about how the company has been managed? - mismanaged? - whatever? However, since the time old man LEITZ (forbad the development of any SLR research) How do I know this? I suppose I could pass it off as a rumour! :-) But how long ago were 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich? That long? It's a surprise I even remembered this part. Well it was part of a discussion with "Leica employees who were staffing the Leica loaner equipment and servicing section for the Olympic Games" We were having a nice bratwurst lunch, fresh bread and excellent beer! :-) Old man Leitz firmly offered that Canon, Nikon, Pentax slr's were merely a fad and all the great photographers of the world will come back to using Leica! And that's the main reason why LEICA fell 10 years behind all other SLR manufacturers! This company has been on the road to whatever may happen, but nearly always behind the eight ball in development. Other than the M8 - M9! Yeah a little bit behind on the M8. But they are quite magnificent camera's in handling, quality of captured image and whatever other superlatives users wish to offer! Those who have not "WORKED" with them for more than an "in camera store quick click" .... (please save your breathe!) Yeah I know you don't like it when I say that either! We are talking about users of the machines, not onetime store clickers. Thank you! Certainly the M9 is the best of the best ever Leica made. Yep I know right here there will be all kinds of people who will say other wise. But then all the others were film cameras, so they don't count! The M9 from results I've seen it is magnificent! A champion job of camera and capture! But really, do any of you honestly and truly believe this petition thing is going to make Leica change their minds about a policy none of us know anything about in the first place? I would bet money this will be the Leica re-action, ready? :-) Board room Monday morning meeting .... "We hear those guys on the LUG are rattling their cages about us again? More about what we should do and not do? Oh don't bother wasting our time it's merely a handful of carpers, gripers and know it alls who couldn't afford the new Super XYZ-slr LEICA with lightening speed autofocus and a 40 gb sensor!" Now wouldn't that be a wild piece of rumour to start? ;-) "OK let's go for a coffee!" End of LUG concerns by the super bosses who run the operation... Oh yeah and one of them owns the place. It's such a lovely day here I'm now going out to shoot whatever I can find interesting with my M8! Thank you very much and have a nice day where ever you maybe! :-) cheers, Dr. ted ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Filippone" <red735i at earthlink.net> To: "'Leica Users Group'" <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Sunday, November 01, 2009 10:53 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] Petition for R10 > Ok..
