However, there is another way to minimize the intrusion of those commercials. My fiber optic provider also provides a cable box with a built-in DVR. Once a week, I program my week's watching, about a five minute job, and then, when I watch the shows, I zip through the commercials very rapidly. When I have to watch a program live, I am also amazed at the proliferation of commercialism these days.
