Dippers feed on aquatic invertebrates by diving into the water and
turning over sunken leaves and other debris to find their prey.
Walking or 'flying' underwater, they're quite safe even in very
turbulent streams, and typically build their nest behind a waterfall.
Dippers are so linked to the streams they reside in that when flying
(in the air) upstream or downstream the bird will follow the contours
of the watercourse rather than take shortcuts over land.
technical stuff: R8/DMR, 560mm f/6.8 Telyt, shoulder stock & monopod.
ISO 400, 1/60 sec @ f/6.8
