It has a front seating area outside where you can sit and watch the trains go by - great when the sun shines - and he makes a superb steak and ale pie with fresh veggies too. Cheers and thanks for taking a look Douglas Ric Carter wrote: > having a wonderful time, wish i were there > > fine pictures of fine machinery > > ric > > > On Sep 30, 2009, at 12:34 PM, Douglas Sharp wrote: > >> Hi Philippe, >> >> MG 0243 makes the North Yorkshire coast look sub-tropical too - it >> almost was on most days, except the full day I had on the railway. >> 25-2: I get the impression that the enthusiasts who run it all have a >> staple diet of strong tea (they actually tap off the boiling water >> from the engine's boiler) and thick sandwiches. >> >> Cheers >> Douglas >> >> >> >> Philippe Amard wrote: >>> MG 0243 with its extremely balanced and evocative composition for me >>> Douglas >>> then we have film 25-2 that comes out of times past ... >>> >>> All beautiful BW. >>> Thanks for the trip - better have a shower now ;-) >>> >>> Amiti?s >>> Philippe >>> >>> >>> >>> Douglas Sharp wrote: >>> >>>> Hi all, >>>> >>>> as usual when I'm on vacation I took a day out on the North >>>> Yorkshire Moors Railway, a preserved line running from Whitby on >>>> the Yorkshire coast to the market town of Pickering on the other >>>> edge of the North York Moors. >>>> >>>> Here's the crop of shots taken on that day - for the technically >>>> minded, the digital shots are those with an MG in the filename, the >>>> rest are on film. >>>> All are displayed in black and white. >>>> >>>> Comments and criticism more than welcome: >>>> >>>> They start here: >>>> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/Transport/Railways/NYMR_2008_BW/Steam_MG_0241.jpg.html >>>> >>>> >>>> >>>> Thanks in advance for taking time to take a look >>>> Cheers >>>> Douglas >>>> >>>> The cameras were a Canon 20D with Canon, Zeiss and Leica lenses, a >>>> Rollei 3003, a Pentax P30 I found up in a charity shop in Pickering >>>> and my late father's Yashica T-AF (Zeiss lens).
