According the Wikipedia's definition of the term: "Although difficult to quantify, some lenses enhance overall image quality by producing more subjectively pleasing out-of-focus areas. Good bokeh is especially important for large-aperture lenses, macro lenses, and long telephoto lenses because they are typically used with a shallow depth of field." so I'm confused;) Jim On Mon, Sep 28, 2009 at 11:43 AM, <grduprey at mchsi.com> wrote: > > > James, > > > Bokeh and Macro just don't mix, Period. ?At macro ranges, bokeh just does > not exist. ?We are talking 1 inch MAXIMUM dof. ?For normal and macro > shooting, I use the 60/2.8R Macro Elmarit lens and it works just fine. > > > Cheers, > Gene ?-------------- Original message from James Laird <digiratidoc at > gmail.com>: -------------- > > >> Which R lens in the 'standard' range (50-60mm) has the best bokeh? >> I've found an interest in the macro world and shoot a lot with my old >> trusty Canon 50 1.8 with a Kenko 12mm extension tube resulting in >> shots like >> >> >> >> I'm interested in trying out an R lens due to Leicas legendary bokeh. >> Which one is the 'best', if there is such a thing? >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >
