Thanks for the tips, guys.

Henning, I took a look at CCC but it appeared that I might have understand 
code, god help me, so I went with SuperDuper and its running in the 
background right now.

Super Duper is tidy and slick, but pretty well all programs use the same 
basic engine. If you can live with the interface of Carbon Copy Cloner, it's 
free and does the same job.
