Not specifically directed at cleaning, but plenty of well-annotated inside views. <http://tonysleep.co.uk/polaroid-sprintscan-4000-diy-repairs> or <http://tinyurl.com/nkob3e> You might also find some useful hints in a recent exchange on the filmscanners mailing list, beginning here <http://www.mail-archive.com/filmscanners at halftone.co.uk/msg21756.html> or <http://tinyurl.com/nza363> Do not be put off by the message subject - it does refer to the SS4000 Alternatively, you could search the filmscanners archive at <http://www.mail-archive.com/filmscanners at halftone.co.uk/info.html> or <http://tinyurl.com/mwmsqt> Piers -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+piers.hemy=gmail.com at leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+piers.hemy=gmail.com at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Doug Herr Sent: 21 September 2009 04:44 To: lug at leica-users.org; LEG; LeicaReflex Subject: [Leica] scanner help! I need to scan some old slides and have found, much to my horror (but not surprise), that my scanner is very dusty and the scans it makes are horrid. It's a Polaroid SprintScan 4000. I've been able to remove the top cover and the lamp, exposing the filthy mirror. The mirror is easy to clean but the lens is buried in the scanner's bowels and I haven't figured out how to reach it for cleaning. Any clues?
