I think it has great potential. > Have you seen the pictures of the X1 with the external finder fitted? > Whether you used that one or any other external 35mm finder I think it > should be a wonderful compact with potentially great results in a very trim > package. > Using the external finder you get to frame in a very uncluttered way, you > get focus confirmation within your vision, AF and AE, plus the manual > control when you want it. A very Barnack concept in my eyes also. > 2009/9/11 Mark Rabiner <mark at rabinergroup.com> Yes I also like the finder - which I hope is not an option but comes with it. I like that it has an elegant prime lens not a dumb zoom. I find it very Leicalike. Which to me means closer to a pocketable LTM screw mount Barnack pre mid bloated M 50's; then an M. M's are awesomely enabling cameras; but just too darned big. I'm sure other versions of this camrea will come out with other lenses. As someone said something to the tune of: It having an 18 so you get a 28. The next version, the X2 could be a 1.33 crop perhaps instead of a 1.5. That's a real step up And I'd hope the X3 would have a 1X crop. And be the compact camera of my digital dreams doing for me what my Rollei 35 and Olympus XA did for me. But really even with a cropped format it would come real close to doing that. Just because we can pocket a digital camrea does not mean it has to have a sensor to the tune of Minox format film. Which was really an unsuccessful format. Mark William Rabiner
