The body (box) contains CCD (or Cmos) shutter, computer, firm ware, range finder (or mirror/ prism), battery, storage card, etc. all of which require a high level of quality and interdependency to bring the image safely to the next stage light room for post processing. And apparently the best of these bodies (boxes) cost considerable more than the glass which costs considerably more than even the finest tripods and ball heads. or so it is in my world YMMV Regards, George Lottermoser george at imagist.com http://www.imagist.com http://www.imagist.com/blog http://www.linkedin.com/in/imagist On Sep 9, 2009, at 2:24 PM, Philippe Amard wrote: > > > Mark Rabiner wrote: > >> Then the body itself. >> Whose purpose is to keep the CCD dark. >> > Why Mark? > I don't mean always ;-) > I mean, what's the technical rationale for this? > > Phx > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
