Dante, your photos give a fresh perspective on Egypt. I am planning a
photo trip with my wife from Sept 27-Oct 7 in Egypt. It's actually a
planned photo trip through Worldwide Photo Treks with Reed Hoffmann
and Mark Alberhasky. Visit Cairo, sail down the Nile, visit the
Temples of Phillae, Edfu and others. Could you share a few words of
wisdom on photographing that part of the world. I'm not a big fan of
filters but I've heard stories of sand getting everywhere. Changing
lenses with my M8 in the desert is probably to be avoided when
possible. Perhaps leaving on the Tri-Elmar with filter and hood is
the best solution with a Canon G10 tucked away as insurance for
equipment failure. I've even considered throwing in a Canon 5D2 with
a 24-105 for some HD video. I am finding it is sometimes more
effective to tell your story with video than stills alone. Not sure
if you need a different permit to shoot video vs. stills. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
