The "houses" are actually small buildings on floats that are moored in Woods Hole harbor. Over time these evolved from small shacks for lobstermen to keep their gear in o quite fancy small homes. They are often full of partying people on the weekends. One is even has two stories. I often see people leaping off its roof. If I can find one when I get home this evening, I'll post a better picture of them.
