[Leica] M9 - not much more expensive than M8?

Geoff,

I'd have purchased an M8 in a HEARTBEAT if a) I had to work on deadline and
needed great images fast and b) I could justify the investment through heavy
professional use (as in the case of Tina and other pros on the LUG.

For my shooting, time isn't an issue.  Neither is workflow when I'm only
processing and scanning one or two rolls at a time.  As it is, I'm getting
about ten to fifteen keepers per 36 exposure roll.  So I look at the
$4000-6000 for an M8 (or $8000 for the possible M9), and think in terms of
how else I could spend that money.

Good luck with that, Jim ;-) ;-) I mean the waiting for some other company
to produce a 24x36 sensor Rangefinder.
On productivity, ownership costs and film processing, quantity etc, everyone
has their own sums and obviously your numbers make sense for you.
The possibilities and numbers change dramatically with the M8 of course.
Keep on shooting and sharing in the quirky Jim universe. They are always
enjoyed.
