RAID, or any other redundancy or high-availability configuration
does not eliminate the requirement for backups.  if you type in
"rm -rf  ~ " (or errant or misconfigured software commits equivalent 
badness) your high-tech drive array will obediently and cheerfully 
delete exabytes of data.

your disks went RAID
but your backups stayed
